Principal Product Marketing Manager

Calendly, Remote, United States

What’s in it for you?

Ready to make a serious impact? Millions of people already rely on Calendly, and we’re still in the midst of exciting product growth, it’s a fantastic time to join us. Everything you’ll work on here will accelerate your career to the next level. If you want to learn, grow, and do the best work of your life alongside the best people you’ve ever worked with, then we hope you’ll consider allowing Calendly to be a part of your professional journey.

About the Role

Calendly is looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to help shape how we position, launch, and grow our products, including new AI capabilities.

This is a full-stack product marketing role on a small team. You'll work closely with Product and Research to understand customers, develop compelling positioning, and influence product direction. You'll also roll up your sleeves to turn that strategy into work customers actually see, from writing messaging and launch copy to managing go-to-market plans and coordinating execution with other teams.

You'll have genuine influence over product decisions and the ownership to bring that thinking to market yourself.

We're looking for someone who enjoys both sides of product marketing: developing a strong point of view and doing hands-on work to bring it to life. You'll present strategies and go-to-market plans directly to executive leaders, including our CEO, and be expected to explain your recommendations, answer tough questions, and incorporate feedback. You'll also need to be comfortable working independently, navigating changing priorities, and taking projects from early ideas through execution and results.

What You’ll Do:

Shape product positioning and influence decisions

  • Bring customer and market insights into product decisions. Analyze customer research, feedback, competitive trends, and product data to identify opportunities and make recommendations to Product and Marketing leaders.
  • Own product positioning and messaging. Define who our products are for, the problems they solve, what makes them different, and how we communicate their value. Develop and maintain product narratives and messaging that other teams can use.
  • Partner with Product and Research early. Help identify important use cases, questions to investigate, and messaging to test as new products and features take shape, especially emerging AI capabilities.
  • Bring a clear point of view. Make thoughtful recommendations, explain the evidence and tradeoffs behind them, and work with stakeholders to reach decisions.

Lead go-to-market execution

  • Own launches from start to finish. Develop the go-to-market strategy for new products and major features, including the audience, messaging, channel plan, and success metrics.
  • Create the actual marketing work. When needed, write clear, compelling copy for product launches, including customer emails, website messaging, in-product education, demo scripts, and sales materials.
  • Drive execution across teams. Build launch briefs and project plans, coordinate with Lifecycle, Growth, Web, Brand, and other partners, and make sure deliverables get completed on time.
  • Keep teams informed and aligned. Maintain up-to-date messaging, launch documentation, and product updates so other teams know what's changing and how to communicate it.
  • Measure results and improve. Work with Product, Research, and Growth to understand campaign performance, product discovery, and adoption. Use what you learn to refine messaging and improve results.

Use AI to make product marketing more effective

-

Use AI regularly in your work. Apply AI tools to research, insight synthesis, content development, and other tasks to improve speed and quality.

-

Build reusable AI workflows. Find opportunities to automate repetitive work and create AI workflows that make PMM outputs (product positioning, messaging, and market insights) easier for other teams to access and use. Share what you build with the broader teams for consistent use.

Who You Are

  • 8+ years of product marketing experience in SaaS (PLG or hybrid GTM preferred), with a track record of leading major launches and driving discovery and adoption of AI-features
  • Strategic and hands-on. You can develop a clear recommendation, build a plan around it, and personally do the work needed to deliver it. You've worked in environments where you owned both strategy and execution.
  • Strong critical thinking and judgment: can zoom out from day-to-day product decisions to identify the bigger strategic questions, tradeoffs, and second-order impacts that need leadership discussion.
  • An excellent writer and storyteller. You can turn complex product concepts into simple, compelling, human language and have strong examples of messaging, launch copy, and other materials you've personally written (vs outsourcing copywriting entirely to AI).
  • An AI-native PMM with experience building AI workflows. You regularly use AI tools in your work and have built repeatable workflows that save time or improve quality. You can share specific examples of what you've built, how you use it, and the results.
  • A strong, reliable operator. You can manage several projects, keep cross-functional partners informed, meet commitments, and deliver high-quality work without needing extensive direction.
  • Collaborative and adaptable. You communicate clearly, seek and incorporate feedback, and are comfortable working through ambiguity and changing priorities on a small team.
  • Confident, resilient product marketer with a growth mindset who stays steady under pressure: able to navigate ambiguity, competing opinions, and changing priorities without losing momentum, conviction or confidence.
  • Executive-ready communicator: can hold the room, communicate clearly, and advocate effectively up and across the org. You also know when to back off and listen, go back to the drawing board. You are comfortable engaging in healthy debate (you can disagree, commit, and move on); you don’t freeze when decisions are imperfect or your POV is questioned.

Bonus Points

  • Experience positioning and launching AI-powered products and features.
  • Experience marketing to both self-serve and enterprise customers.
  • Experience with product-led growth, lifecycle marketing, and in-product adoption campaigns.
  • Experience working on early-stage products, from initial customer validation through launch.
  • Experience with product analytics, project management, and AI automation tools.
